ASTRONOMERS ESSAY
The teacher told us to do an essay about the astronomers that we have talked about and compare to of them so is what i am doing with the astronomers Nicolaus Copernicus and Claudius Ptolemy.
On the one hand, the theory of Claudius Ptolemy was that the earth was the center of the universe.
He has a geocentric view. Ptolemy synthesized Greek knowledge of the known Universe. His work enabled astronomers to make accurate predictions of planetary positions and solar and lunar eclipses, promoting acceptance of his view of the cosmos in the Byzantine and Islamic worlds and throughout Europe for more than 14000 years.
By using Ptolemys tables, astronomers could accurately predict eclipses and the positions of planets.
Because real visible events in the sky seemed to confirm the truth of Ptolemys views, his ideas were accepted for centuries until thye Polish astronomers, Copernicus, proposed in 1543 that the Sun, rather than the Earth, belonged in the center.
As i mentioned Copernicus, on the other hand, Nicolas Copernicus synthesized observational data to formulate a comprehensive, Sun-centered cosmology, launching modern astronomy and setting off a scientific revolution. He had a heliocentric theory.

Women in science
The teacher has asked us to think about ideas to develop this theme. We think that it would be a good idea to ask people some questions at the school.
What do they think the proportion of women that have studied sciences is and what do they know about any women that has something to do with science or has done any research about science.
With this questionnaire we would know what the society thinks and which the reality is, but to know for sure we would also have to ask in the streets to adults
and see the differences of today and from the past.
